Hi all,

I'm a newb at creating websites (this will become abundantly clear in my post!:) ), but I'm attempting it anyway. My current effort is to put together my own photo album. I have a lot of my pics in a Coppermine album, but I'd really like to keep all of my website...in my website. :)

I began making an html page for each of my pics so I could attach separate comments with each pic, but I'm wondering if there's a better way to do this.

Therefore, I'm coming here with my question, hoping that the combined wisdom and experience of this forum can come up with something for me. I'd like to find a way to create a database of all my pics, another database with all of my comments for the corresponding pics, and a way to put them all together on a webpage when the appropriate thumbnail is clicked.
Seems like this would save me from having to make dozens of separate pages, one for each of my pics.

I can't afford the more than $300 for Flash Basic, but any other ideas on how to accomplish this is more than welcome. Does anyone know of a (free?) template that could do this for me? If no template, a link to a tutorial on how to do this would also be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I was told by an acquaintance (who didn't have the time to explain it to me) that what I was looking for was a cgi in conjunction with php. Does this make sense to anyone? Thanks.

I'm pretty new to alot of this aswell, but is this what you want?

Your web host will need to support .ASP i suppose but other than that it looks fairly usable.

Macromedia Dreamweaver has a tool for creating online photo albums, but you're probably better off writing a script as it costs quite a bit and may not be exactly what you're looking for. :)
