I got a gadget for christmas from my parents (heh) that hooks up to the tv and can record to a PSP memory card or some other formats too. Might be what you're looking for.
This isnt the exact model I have (couldnt remeber the name) but this might do you.

ATI TV Wonder would do the job, it's about 50-80 bucks. It provides an rca in to record video \ audio from a peripheral device in whatever digital format you desire. Plus the added bonus of being a tv tuner.
