text input applet

are there any applets that let me have a text input about 500px buy 600px and for the user to click anywhere insode that text field and start typing. i thought of doing it by filling up the text field with spacse and then when the user write the applet gets ride of the spaces and allows the user to type anywhere in that field???

its for a project that i am doing i need the users to put text where ever they want. almost like a white board
