How I backup email messages in Outlook 2002 for XP ?
I went to "C:\Documents and Settings\Shop\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook" and I found two files, well these are ?
If backup these how to recover my new hdd if old hdd failed ?
To these files(and to recovery) exist and the CALENDAR(outlook) DATA ?

have you tried going to 'import and export' on the file menu of outlook? this wizard should do the job for you.

Yes -- use the 'Import and Export' from the File menu. Choose 'Export to a file' (next) then choose 'Personal Folders File pst' (next) make sure 'include subfolders' is ticked and choose a drive and folder to save the the backup file. This file contains everything (messages, contacts, folder layout).

Now whenever you have to do a full re-install of Windows and Outlook, use the 'Import and Export' wizard again - but this time choose 'Import' and select 'pst' as the file type. Find your backup file and Outlook will import it.

Note, if you only need to re-install Outlook but windows itself does not need re-installing, you won't need to import a backup file. Windows stores your Outlook data in a separate system folder and Outlook automatically finds it when it's first opened.
