i need a script of any kind that can login users but alsow can retrive usernames for ex: a welkom message,personal notes ec....

this may be any kind of script bisides: asp

YEA,, hehe,, I'll back c9 up with that one... Javascript is not the way to go hehehehe :D:D:D,,, I think perl or php... yea perl or php.. best way to go..

I have tried www.lockledarea.com

They have a lite version which is free. The login and register screens are crap but if you copy the code from the relevant option into your own page every thing looks okay.

Also, with locked area it uses the ssi command 'logger' to show the memer details in the browser after login. If you edit logger script (very very easy) and save it as loggeruser you can use that to put the members name on the page (if that is what you are looking to do)

I am no good with scripts but this was okay. I have used it at www.north-walsham.biz
