Live web chat? Not IRC...

I have run into a problem where i need a chat room on my site but do to security reasons i cannot connect thru a java app or any other Program to irc. Is there alternatives to IRC for web based chats. and are they secure?

I work for the army and they have blocked IRC and AIM and Yahoo and MSN...

The chat is for a group descussion but they dont want to use a message board

You might like to try Delphi Forums as they have real time chat screens. I much prefer the IRC (specially mIRC) mode of chatting though and cannot comment on security with regards Delphi or any other net service... You would need to first set up a forum and then the chatrooms which can be controlled. Go see Delphi HERE (http://www.delphiforums.com/)
