assigning new icon to desktop folderwebmarkart 10-15-2002, 10:22 PM I created a new folder on my desktop and I want to change the icon from the "folder" to something else (Win 2000). I can't remember how to do it... smeagol 10-15-2002, 11:54 PM You can change the icon for the folder, but you're probably going to end up changing the icon for all folders if you do change it. Open the desktop folder. Click: -Tools -Folder Options -Click the File Types tab -Click the Advanced button near the bottom of the dialog. -Click the file type you want to change the icon for -Click the Change Icon button near the top of the next dialog. -Choose your icon. **Fair warning - I changed the icon for a file type once, and had a lot of trouble getting it back to normal. cg9com 10-16-2002, 01:24 AM or just make a shortcut, you prolly know that tho :) webmarkart 10-16-2002, 05:28 AM Even though it wasn't my ideal solution, I've decided to create the shortcut and just change that icon. thanks for the advice... cg9com 10-17-2002, 05:32 AM you cant always get what you want but if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need (im sure you know who that is) sorry you couldnt find a solution you wanted |
