New site for a family in law for his new business, done by some whizz kid mate of theirs, I thought it was really swish when I first saw it, dawns on me now that it's all flash and frames or something and Google for one doesn't seem awfully keen

I'd appreciate some more expert opinions on the way it's been tackled, not fussed about design and so on, thinkthe guy's done well there, more interested in the way it's been done if the site is supposed to bring in search traffic

and what would be the right way to tackle that design, assuming the current approach isn't the best

thanks

Flash = bad.

Especially how the buttons at the top don't work.

The top buttons work for me.

It's ok, but as you've found out, will be awfully hard to get indexed in search engines.

Googles text only cache of the site (http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:uMPfPA4tzPYJ:www.ad82.co.uk/+site:ad82.co.uk&hl=en&lr=&strip=1) says it all.

It's much, much more difficult to successfully promote a website in the search engines when it doesn't have any text content associated with it. It's not entirely impossible (search Google for 'miserable failure' to see proof that a site can be promoted without having any relevant text content on it), but the kind of effort required is so monumental that you'll be much better off getting the site rebuilt without frames or flash in the long run.
