I think it would be very interesting working on a team programming project. We would learn from eachother, gain team working environment experience, and cultivate new friendships.

We can discuss the details, such as language(s), after people sign up. I think it is only fair to allow different level programmers to parcitipate in this, so we should team up up according to our capabilities/experience and compatibilities (such as language preference, type of programming (i.e. socket programming,
BIOS programming)). This is, of course, assuming that people sign up! :)

Anybody up for it?

So basically you want to start another coding forum amongst the many out there already including this one and you are here possibly trolling for members?

Err I dont think he said to create another coding forum....he said a team....and they could easily as well post here in this Computer Science forum as a means of communication amongst the team members.

Ender I am game! What you got in mind? I am a Java programmer. SCJP certifed and working on the Developer and the Web Component exam simultaneously.

First off, I was thinking an application, not a website.

Suryad, I'm a Java programmer too. I really enjoy socket programming, and am well experienced in it, and one of the ideas I had in mind was a large irc-like or aim-like (or both) instant messenging program with many features. Like IRC, we could distribute the server as well as the client, so people could host and moderate their own servers. This is just an idea I wanted to throw out there; I think it's crucial that every team member is interested in the type of project. And I'd like to hear suggestions from other people.

I want to clarify what I said earlier, that I think we should team up based on compatibilities. There doesn't have to be just one team, there can be many, all working on different projects.

Also, I like suryad's idea of keeping the communication inside this forum, perhaps we could dedicate a single thread to it.

Okay, so far suryad and abbeyroadd are interested. I believe that the best way to do this is in an IM environment... so if you are still interested, please post here or email me about a time in which we can plan the project over IM and which IM service you would like to use.
