PHP on XPHome

Is it possible to install PHP on XPHome?

I'd go with whatever suits your fancy. wamp appears to be php5 only but most servers still run php4 (unfortunately). xampp can do php4 or php5 ..

xampp is great. I use it and love it.

Now I am setting up phpBB on xampp.
I am able to surf phpBB pages through the localhost. But there is this page that ask me to setup the database through a form on install.php, but the response was that it cannot connect to the database.

Is it something to do with xampp?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought it isn't possible to install a webserver on XP home, you will need XP pro for this.

many of us have installed web servers on XP Home. I personally use easyphp.

However mine is for local testing and development only, and isn't open to the world.

What that refers to is that XP Home doesn't come shipped with IIS.

Have you created a database with phpMyAdmin?

Have you told phpBB the details of this database?
username, password and database name.

You could also do it yourself with a tutorial (http://a51.neostrada.pl).
