So after slating so many websites in this forum over the last couple of months, it's time to get my comeuppance!

Board Crazy Skateboarding (http://www.board-crazy.co.uk) is back online after an extended absence while I updated the design and made it (I hope) XHTML 1.1 valid.

Feel free to drop some advice or criticism, plus any bugs you come across.

Many thanks,
Adam Bunn

Well, it's not entirely valid (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.board-crazy.co.uk%2F), but the design is nice and seems to scale nicely. Perhaps it could do with some images though to break up the content a bit.

Thanks for pointing those errors out, I'm sure there will be lots of niggling ones as time goes on until I get used to the strictness while blogging

Very nice site, works fine in IE 5.5 & 6, FF 1.5.0.1, Opera 8.51.

Thanks for the compliments. The empty space thing was required to fix a bug in IE that was causing the left hand border to disappear when the main content is shorter than the navigation column. I agree there is rather too much of it (500px in fact) but until such a time comes when all the pages are long enough it's the only solution I could find (and this after several hours of tinkering).

Looks nice. I'd spice up the h1 (BOARD CRAZY SKATEBOARDING), it looks a bit dull next to the cool skateboarding graphics. I'd make it a graphic itself, and use one of those image replacement techniques.

Or not, it looks good as it is.

Ha ha, yeah, using an image is one option. I'm actually thinking about overlaying some kind of texture with CSS (using a mostly transparent gif) which could look pretty decent, we'll see.
