Internal speaker as what? The PC speaker that is connected the the speaker header on the motherboard or another speaker that is connected to an audio header on the 'board?

Don't think it's possible, only on or off. Although I guess it could depend on the mobo, but I've never seen one which can support the changing of volume for the internal speaker.

Nah I've never seen a volume control for the PC speaker either.

These days that speaker is mostly only used to signal an error situation either with a single beep if the error is displayed on the screen or with a series of beeps to indicate what the problem is if themonitor has failed.
