Looking for Logo Designer

I'm looking for someone to design a logo for a new website, because I really suck at headers.
I'm not on a fixed budget, from looking around the price range seems to be $20 - $50 but I'm looking for the right person, not the right price. You have the freedom to set your own rates. I want the best, not the cheapest.

In taking on this project you will be privy to some confidential information about an upcoming web project, you must agree to Non-Disclosure until the project launch, and you are also forbidden to launch a similar web project until after the project launch.

We will retain full copyright to the created image (and and subsequent versions) to do with as we see fit, however we acknowledge your moral rights (ie, the right to claim authorship of the work) and in addition to those rights, freely allow you to display the work in your portfolio, in whatever form that may take. We politely request that you do not show the finished work until after the project launch.

If you agree to these terms then please post a link to your portfolio and rates.
I will respond to all applicants who fufill these requirements.

It doesnt have to be pretty - whats important is the content (your work)
They can just be logos dropped on a page, or on a free image gallery or similar - doesnt have to be anything fancy, as long as I can see examples of your work (and an accompanying quote)

Well, since few have replied yet...I'll give it a go.. I havne't done a whole lot that's been published or displayed anywhere, but I've made some images for my own site.

http://www.runeescape.net -- all the images on that first page were made by me (or, in some cases, modified from other images, such as the granite rock bit at the top left--it began as a windows "marble" background).

More details on the type of image you are looking for would be helpful. I can draft up a little roughdraft bit and see what you think?.

The rate would depend on how long it takes to do and the size. I really need to know more about what you are looking for.

Maybe lack of response is because of low pay? $20 - $50 is quite a low amount for somebody in the West (the price of one meal), though not unreasonable for somebody elsewhere in the world. You're asking for a high quality logo and they can take hours to make.

Actually got quite a good private response, $20-50 is pretty average for this sort of work for a freelancer. Got my self sorted with a very high quality job - ubik delivered exactly what I wanted.

1 logo shouldnt take an experienced designer more than 2 and a half hous - unless the client is very fussy - which I'm not ;) $20 an hour is a decent wage, no matter where you're from. Freelancing doesnt pay what it used to, not with all the competition from low cost of living countries. This sort of work doesnt require you to be a UK or US citizen, in fact for something this simple, you dont even need good communication skills ;)
