Does anyone know how to uninstall phpdev properly?

I was having problems with it and want to uninstall it and install apache, php, mysql seperatley. I tried installing apache but it says that port 80 is already taken up. So i'm guessing its phpdev. To check i ran phpdev again and the apache server worked, so it probably is phpdev taking up the slot.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

What Apache version did that thing install? I'm assuming it installed Apache as a Service.

Well you'd have to uninstall the service (pretty much all you have to do).
Open the commandline and execute these two:

apache -n "Apache" -k shutdown
apache -n "Apache" -k uninstall

Assuming phpdev left the default service name. If not you'll have to go to services (In Administrative tools) aznd find the name and use it instead of the "Apache".

Thanks. But i'm am a bit new at all this. Which commandline do you mean?

Also theres a shortcut to install apache as a service, and before i never clicked this. So it can't be that blocking up the port 80.

How can i delete phpdev properly and free up port 80?

Command line (Command prompt) is cmd.exe. Just Click Run in the start menu and type "cmd".
If it's not installed as a service (it should) it won't display in services.

Thanks for your help. It doesn't display in services though. But it is still using port 80.

Also it seems to be constantly running, and i don't know hot to stop it or delete it.

for 2k/XP start >> control panel >> administrative tools >> services .. look for anything called apache or phpdev in there , double-click it and select manual start that will stop it from starting up automatically , until I know which phpdev && which OS I cant help with uninstall.
