Is it just me, or is dreamwever mx terribly unstable? I mean it might have been my install or something...

Depends what you mean by unstable.
DW 4 ran fine on my machine but MX seems to slow the system down tremendously and crashes if I have various packages open at the same time - such as Photoshop and Fireworks.
This means I need to close one to work in the others and makes designing a little more time consuming.
I just put it down to being a larger package and was going to buy additional memory to add onto my 128 that I have now.

I find that DWMX is just as unstable as DW4 especially when it comes to inserting small images, I find I have to load my text editor add the image tag and save it the let DW reload it so it doesn't crash. I mean real small 2px²!
Man, you think it's unstable on 128? I'm running it on 64 with a 200mhz. I think I'm going to sit in a corner now and cry:( having a slow machine is so depressing. Oh well time to boot up DW now.

oooh that must hurt. not that size matters...apparently ;)
I have 128 memory,
800MHZ, 40 Gig HD - although only have 5 gigs left so need to clean it up a bit.
If the memory doesn't work i don't know what the problem is.

oh yeah, I think this Christmas I may get a new one.
I think 2.4ghz will be enough. Hmm...I wonder if it is much faster?
If you really want to know pain how about the fact that at this very moment I have 9% free physical resources!
It was good at the time when my dad purchased it, 3 or 4 years ago. It was great with my 1mb graphics card and the possibiliy to upgrade from 32 to 64 mb ram..those were the days.

I haven't had any problems with DW MX. I usually have it open with Fireworks and Photoshop6 among several other things open. Running it on XP with 2.0Ghz processor and 1Gb of memory.

I don't use it, but heard that many had problems when used on WinXP, to the extent that some changed to Win2K

I have a 2.2mHz and 512 RAM, no problems w/ DW
a note to you guys thinking about upgrades... go RAM before you go processor!! RAM helps lots, but I am not noticing that much difference between my 2.2Mhz P4 Northwood and the 433 Celeron I had before...
May be 'cus I'm running it in a laptop now and i'ts always so hot... oh well :)

yea same here redmeat ... I use a notepad dropin replacement called crimson editor... I only have DW because ... I can? I use it to write myself tables quickly and stuff like that. But I have never really found WYSIWYG editors to make pages quicker for ME, because after I'm done with them I have to go back through the code and write it out how I like it anyways.
Dual processors huh?? *pouts* ... Maybe my next computer... I'm interested in how you set that up, do you have a URL w/ info about it?

Well there is only one thing about my computer that i am proud of and that would be my hard drive, 170gb! I mean it fits in well with my p4 1.7 and everything but it's my pride and joy!

what in the world would you use all that space for??
I have 40gigs and i'm dual booting windows 2k pro and linux redhat 7.3... i have every program that i need... and i still have 27 out of 30 left in my windows partition!
instead of keeping music cluttering up my HD i burn it onto disks and leave them sitting in a stack by my computer... i back up old programs i might want to use again like that too... so I don't think i'll ever run out of space.
but 170 gigs!! i didn't even know they made that.
I want a dual processor :D

:D
I have 3 hard drives which add upto 170gb, a 120gb a 40gb and a 10gb. I love my music and i love my movies and i love it when they are easy to get to. So it comes in pretty handy. I am constantly downloading things too cause i have cable which is pretty neat so i need the space.
I WANT MORE! I'M RUNNING OUT!
