Uploading .access file in dreamweaver MX 2004

I created an .access file, and uploaded it from a PC in dreamweaver MX 2004. It works, but I cannot see the file anymore on the remote server - I can see the file in dreamweaver under the section 'my local files'. Also, when using the view through the web site host in their site (Easyspace, gold), I cannot see the .htaccess file. I am very reluctant to do anything more until I can find the file as I am in no position to delete the file on the remote server if anything is wrong. Can anybody possibly help, please?

Get another ftp program like FileZilla (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/) it should allow you to hide or show .htaccess files. Usually those files are hidden until you tell the ftp program to show them.
