And for our second trick....

Finally got my new site up and running. Runs of one dbase and one template, all dynamically coded.

Take a look around, lemme know about typos, and stuff that's wrong with it.

I know there's a slight lack of content, but i'm working on that! :)

Thanks guys

Jee

works fine in: Oprea, IE6, Mozilla (the reply box is smaller due to mozilla's compliance with the W3C standard...)

Well, posts made today and for the next few days are viewed more as test posts, so a little chit chatting is fine. However, when this forum officially opens (with the closure of the old), be warned that the rules will be in full effect, and gibberish/ chit chatting/ out of topic posts will not be allowed. That would mean the majority of posts here and made today would be considered inappropriate.

If you think the rules were tough in the old WA forum, be warned!

George, just wonder why are you still using the username WA? Shouldn't it be more related to the new site name, or is it a tribute to the old site name?

wow, I was just looking at the rules, I don't even think I could post links to the other forums I participate in, most would violate something other than the non advertising rule...

Javaman, the no advertisement rule apply to self promotion/spam/advertisement. Posting up a genuinely useful link when it's called for does not fall into that category.

Regarding my username, I guess I was just a little lazy at the time. I just might change it to something like George before the forum opens to the masses.

It's your forum and all, but keep in mind that a lot of people (including me), became regulars because we could have fun while being constructive at the same time.

I mean, way back when (early days of the Pit - not the monstrosity it became before closing it) was what I consider the prime of the forums and that state should be strived for once again. (The Pit *was* a great idea, and it was great for a while too - it just got out of hand)

If the rules are enforced to the point no fun can be had, I fear some of the regular traffic may drop...

But of course, I don't think it will ever go that far. :)

And this is more and more sounding like it should be put in the Feedback forum..... :D

Definitely Jason. The rules are really just common sense in writing. One of its goals is to prevent the kind of loose culture that the Pit created to be replicated again in a technical forum that is CodingForums.com. The reason? Don't want to go through that list of reasons again heh.

p.s: The forum will probably go through another purging of most threads just before the old forum shuts down, so no need to move threads around for now.

Hope that doesn't include *another* post reset - I worked hard for all 10 or so posts I previously had at CodingForums before opened to the general public. :D

I will say this about the forum: it was, simple, streamlined, elegant, easy on the eyes and the mouse, friendly in every way, excellently moderated, and most of all, very conducive to discussion and exchange. I have not been around long enough to know the history of other forums, but it was a winner and I couldn't spot anything broken about it. I hope the new forum will be every bit as good.

it was moved, but basicly in XMB by looking at the CP log you can get the hash of an admin's password. Due to a feature they never removed you can log in using the hash of a password, making it so a guest can log in as any of the admins...
