Flashing LED Light in Photoshop

Does anyone know of any tutorials on how to create a flashing LED light in Photoshop (for an animated GIF)?

I'm sure it's pretty easy but I can't find anything on how to do it and I'm not too familiar with Photoshop yet.

I'm don't know of any tutorials off hand or anything, but I do know that you can unravel gifs. Just open up the gif in PhotoShop. I haven't done it in a long time, but you can get what each frame looks like.

I know this doesn't teach you how to create the effect, but you can at least see how each frame is put together. You can then edit each frame and might be able to, with some finesse, change the green in each frame to red. Just something off the top of my head.

Thanks but when opening Photoshop says "This is an animated GIF. You can only view one frame. Saving over this file will result in a loss of information." :confused:

Oops, sorry, lol. Open it in ImageReady. You'll get 4 frames. 2nd and 4th frames are the same. So only need to edit 3 frames, but not sure if you'll be able to get it looking how you want, hehe. I'll play around with it a bit and see if i can get it red.

EDIT: Yeah, I'm not good enough to get it red for you, heh. You may be better off getting a tut to create the effect in the first place. At least you now know how to create the frames (each layer is a different frame).

Ah ok thanks anyway. :)

First, open the image in ImageReady - then move over to Photoshop.

Make a new adjustment layer, select hue/saturation, in the box that comes up, in the "EDIT" drop-down box, choose "greens" and then adjust the Hue slider to the left until you get a red color in the green area.

Then, jump back to ImageReady and "Save As" the new animation.

This may not be the best way, as the edges are a little rough...
