hello experts,
Having offered phpBB type forums for some time, I want to move away from those towards a 'free of clutter and idle chat' question and answer board.
I'm finding it hard to find anything suitable, but I suppose I envisage it being a bit like a 'Blog' although much simpler than the software and scripts I have seen so far. I don't like the term or idea of 'blogging' but that seems to be the closest comparison I can make to what I am picturing.
What I want to achieve, is a page where web visitors can pose specific questions with a view to getting relevant advice posted from other web visitors who have read the question there.
No need for any categories, subsections or menus at the sides of the page.
The display would clearly show a posting area for any new questions, and each question would have a means of replying specifically to that question.
There also needs to be a 'rate this response' facility associated with each answer, so that web visitors can offer their opinion of the worthiness of an answer.
I'm not particularly bothered about the need to register or have email address notifications etc, but it would be nice to be able to 'approve or delete' any question or answer before it appears on the web page. If not possible, I can look at the page on a daily basis and need the ability to delete any spam or ridiculous posts.
So do you get the idea and know of anything I can use?
To summarise, I'm wanting a clear and simple way to give, request, and rate advice, whilst discouraging idle chat.
