Please, please, please help  I'm so stressed our with this, it's untrue! :(

Using a tool provided by my webspace provider, I created a website. Not entirely happy with my results (and being keen!), I decided to edit it using Dreamweaver.

I'm almost happy with the look of it all now... apart from the menu, which for some reason does not work properly. It was created using Xara MenuMaker. I think the problem is something to do with the CSS part of the page (remember, I'm a newbie!).

Click here to view the page and see my problem (http://www.activedrivingsolutions.com/index1.html) (Hover over the buttons on the navigation bar)

In order for you to see the actual code, I have copied the whole website into a zip file, which you can download here (http://www.adiforum.com/wsb3503189101.zip). The files in question are "index1.html" and "main.css".

I really hope someone can help sort this out for me so that I can get the content on and get my site online and my business can grow!

Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me

Ged

P.S. I know the photos don't display properly - just a minor glitch which I know how to fix ;)

i didnt bother looking at the code but ive used xara for years and never had that problem, make sure in the program your keeping all links in the same category and not stressing the dropdowns by too much. you can pick how far away from the menu you want the dropdowns so check that.

I suggest you use a menu that doesn't rely so heavily on JS. The suckerfish drop down menus only need a snippet of js to work in IE but they will work without JS in any other browser. The reason I say this is because I have JS disabled by default on sites I don't visit often so your menu didn't show up for me. http://www.htmldog.com/articles/suckerfish/dropdowns/
They have some examples of multi-level drop downs.

Rappa - I have not noticed that you can do this with MenuMaker - it doesn't appear you can with my version anyway?! When I preview the Menu from the actual program, it works great anyway. It's just when I import it into Dreamweaver it all goes to pot :(

_Aerospace_Eng_ - thank you also for your reply. I would be interested in creating a site which is compatible to all browsers, so I really appreciate your advice. The thing is, could I get one as attractive as the one I created in MenuMaker? And the other thing is... how? I'm afraid I'm not really in the position to start learning a whole new programming language in order to get this simple job done.....but if you're offering? :D

Can anyone sort my site out for me? Willing to pay  (Getting desperate now!)

simple job
Guess what. Nothing is simple. You are just used to it. You don't tell a kid driving a bicycle is easy because you already do it for what? 10-20 years maybe?

If you are willing to pay you should ask in paid work offers and requests(other forums)

Erm... I take your point. I didn't actually mean it was a 'simple job' as such - just that it's so nearly done and it's just that the dropdown is appearing in the wrong place. Surely there's just a simple 'fix' for this and you pros can spot my mistake? Or am I just being naive!?

P.S. I have already linked to this thread in the 'Paid requests' forum :)

Along the same lines as Aerospace_Eng, the menus don't work in Safari. They drop down, but as soon as you try to move your mouse over an option, they disappear.

The suckerfish dropdowns take some CSS-ifying, but yes, I believe you can make them look just as pretty.

you do realize this menu does not work in FireFox either.
