View Full Version : What web technologies would I need for this?

What techniques (i.e. languages/style etc..) would I need to implement the following simple case. A web page with a single text box and a button. Text is entered and when the button is clicked the text then becomes part of the web page (Think to-do list type activity.) No log in required. The page would need something on the server side to store all these entries and update it there so they are visible by other users as the come across the web page and then daily log them into a file accesible by the administrator. Same basic idea as a really simple forum.

I've got some amount of programming ability but have no real knolledge of web developement beyond a basic html page. What type of access would I need on the server computer (local scripts ??) really just don't know much about web dev.

Thanks All,

Any server side language. I recommend php. If you have a database great, if not then you can use something called Cute News (http://cutephp.com) which uses text files to store the comments though an already setup block might be easier for you. www.blogspot.com gives users free blogs.
