Hello, I have a little problem.

I have a template page that every user sees and waits 25 seconds before downloading a file. I just noticed that by typing http://www.xtrafile.com/download.php?action=2&file=filename.zip
it downloads it automatically therefore bypassing the timer.

I put the files in a non webaccessable directory (parent directory of public_html) but it still downloads.

Use $_POST variables in the URL, then check in your script to see if the variables were passed to it that way.

BTW, you really need to read the Posting Guidelines (http://www.codingforums.com/postguide.htm) and put a better subject line on your posts than that. "Urgent help" just doesn't cut it.

Sure… you could try "How to force a timed download?" or "prevent immediate downloads." If you're adventurous you could use "How to force user to wait for a download?" Those are all pretty descriptive titles that will help the forum searches a lot.
