I just downloaded phpBB and when I view the .php files in Notepad the tabs are replaced with a "square". Is there a free utility/program that will take out the "squares" and tab the file properly so I can read it easier.
I'm on a PC.
Open it in WordPad instead.
Alternatively, you could try any number of free text editors designed for code editing, such as Crimson Editor. I personally preferred UltraEdit when I was still working in a Windows environment, but that wasn't free.

I personally use HTML-KIT (http://www.chami.com) which is also free to use.

Ok....thanks for the replies. I am using WordPad now and will look into those other programs later on.

I've seen cases where opening it up in wordpad and then saving and opening in notepad works. I'm a big notepad fan. :)
