There is none.

Read this thread: protecting your source code (http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=4437).

And still: why bother? Do you really think, apart from unique art work that shouldn't be posted in full on the Internet anyway, that your pages contain anything not seen or used elsewhere already?

Don't put it on the internet, simple as that. =)

hello,

thanks for your input. in some point you are right why bother. but i just figured that protecting it would make copycats think twice because of the work that lies ahead. he has to type them manually.

i'd seen websites that cannot be copy pasted.sample link below, BUT YOU HAVE TO ACCESS THE MEMBERS PAGE. The pages where the main information are, cannot be copy/pasted. All the tool bars are not present including .. File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tool, Help.
Without all these functions the member page is protected.

i am a member and has an access thats why i know copy/pasting cannot be done. unless you do it manually.

preventing members from copy/pasting the masterlist of all the brands and companies, then asking for refund later.

i hope you got my point. below is the link.

www.worldwidebrands.com

thanks

If you put the content online, people will be able to copy and paste it. There is no way to stop it.

Sure, you can stop some means of copying working, but all that'll do is alienate users.

hi,

Thanks for your advice guys.

For computer savvy people like you I know this feature of security is a no brainer, you can go around it as easy as you can read this thread.

But sometimes having this simple security is better than nothing at all. Preventing dummies like me from copying the pages.

I do understand that ones you posted your website over the internet then all the information on your site is up-for-grabs.

Please help me how to disable the right click and also how to disable the standard buttons File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, Help on a particular page on your website.

Thank you in advance

Disable Right Click (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=javascript+disable+right+click&btnG=Search) - lots of options here.

New Windows With Javascript (http://www.pageresource.com/jscript/jwinopen.htm) - you need to open a new window with javascript and set menubar=no in the process.

Again, highly advisable not to do either of these things but it's your website.

Also as a word of warning browsers like Firefox actually even have options in the preferences that let you say what javascript can and can't do like disabling right click on pages. If the option isn't turned on it will still work though.

And you have got to think about left handed people, who switch their left and right button functions over... :)
