heres a a little blurb on my site:

MIT Media Lab undertaking a project to put laptops in impoverished regions.
Pretty sweet little device. Powered by a crank, flash memory HD, peripherial connectivity, and some kinnda out of the box network capability... Here's their site:

Nicholas Negroponte was on charlie rose talkin about it.
doesnt sound like they be available for regular market consumption for a while, but soon maybe.

Just a thought... I wonder why they didn't use some kind of solar cell with, or instead of the crank?

solar is more expensive and what if it rains?

Not only is solar more expensive, but a laptop (even a childs) requires more power than a calculator. Truthfully upon reviewing the product the only place they would have space for it is the bottom and quite frankly that wouldnt work.

The question is not "What is the answer of life, the universe and everything?", but rather "What is the question of the answer of life, the universe and everything?"

does anyone ever wonder that perhaps beyond this universe there might be something "ever existent" of which we could never comprehend because we know nothing which resembles it, perhaps nothing like us. I bet no-one would accept that thought, and it perfectly proves exactly what i mean we only know of life and death, beginnings and endings..

why, in the beginning, was there something instead of nothing?

and even with my ultimate question above, i still assume there was a beginning..

I actually think there are other humans on another planet just like ours with the same technology that we haven't discovered yet. They haven't discovered us because we haven't discovered them.

my and my bro. were once talking about what if street magician David Blaine was an extraterrestrial, lol. i asked him on what would be his reaction if he ever came in contact with an "alien", he said he would pull out a gun on him and say, "take me to your leader", rofl
