I have a server set up that is accessible by the outside world, by using no-ip.com, the server is behind a router (firewall turned off), and IS accessible through http://scabex.servebeer.com I have registered a domain (www.farclan.com) and I want to have that go to my server, what do I need to do, I have just a server with cpanel on it and it is running apache, and it works fine for scabex.servebeer.com and the ip address on my LAN what do I need to configure for the name servers and stuff? What are name servers? Do I need to change more than just name servers? Plz plz help

You need to set the domains DNS to point to your server EG: Your server IP or possibly NS1.SERVEBEER.COM and NS2.SERVEBEER.COM

Made sense to me. Who did you get your domain name from? Do you even know your DNS servers?

Made sense to me too :D However I understand where you might get confused if you have not done it before. If you have purchased your domain from a host then they will have a nameserver address for you to forward your domain name to. Hence the NS1.page.com etc. That's the nameserver to redircet to. You will need to contact your host and ask them what the nameserver info is and then contact the people who hold your domain name and get it set up. Hope this helps you. :D

ok, i think i found something to fix it, this place called freedns host i configured farclan.com to how they said to and it worked, but after i got everything working my server crashed and i have no idea how to fix it, im running redhat desktop 8.0 and it gets a message ALWAYS when i reboot after installing, "I could not start the X server (your gui)..." and so on anyone know how to fix this?
Server specs (dont laugh)
AMD athlon 700mhz
256mb ecc pc 133
4gb wd hdd
6 gb maxtor hdd
nvidia (dont recall the chipset) 32mb video card
tape backup drive
floppy and cd the standard
*EDIT*
I just installed phpdev on my computer for a temporary host until i can get my server fixed. So the url should be www.farclan.com I just changed the name servers on the place i get my domain from, so they probly have not updated yet.
