View Full Version : Submit iFrame from Outside

Ok, this is a strange request but i am wondering if its possible. I hope it is.

Ok so im coding a blog system and i want to have a system where people can add others to their friends list. But that isnt really important.

What i have is an iFrame that calls a remote page on a different server. On the page thats called is a form button saying "Add to Friends?" allowing the person to add people to their list from different servers.

Im looking for a way to have a form button outside of the iFrame that will, when clicked, act as if it pressed the Submit button on the inside of the iFrame thus submitting the file thats on the remote server. Basicaly i want to use a button on a local page to act like the user is clicking the button located in the iFrame.

Thanks in advance.

For this you will need javascript however it won't be possible because javascript cannot go across domains for security reasons.

Alright, makes sense. Then is it possible to pull up the contents of a remote page in a local HTML (or php) doccument without iframe, thus making the HTML of the remote page local allowing the button to work?
