Please.. State an amount... How am I meant to know what you consider an "insane amount"... I have barely any idea what you need. If I said $2500, would that be an insane amount? If you dont know what the job is worth, state the maximum amount you would pay.

Well after consideration, i've decided to pay $1100 at completion. I guess this is okay.

Well after reading your emails i've thought. It seems this project isnt worth the amount i listed so i'm putting the prive to $9000.

As I said, I will be happy to work with you but I require an up front payment and cant take the risk of payment on completion.

Not to sound sceptical but an increase of 10x your original price seems dodgy to me, especially considering your specified you will only pay on completion of the project.
With these type of deals it is usual to expect up to 50% to be paid up front.
You also should give more information about the scope of the project. You say you want 3 php programmers, is that $9000 between them or each?
How long do you expect the project to last/what kind of time commitment are you expecting?
You've raised your payment twice now, presumably to garner more interest, the payment is not the problem, more details about the project are needed to gauge the value of that payment.
I've written many RPGs in my time from the very basic to quite in depth. Taking anything from a week to 3 months to write.
Do you have a concept for this project or are you just going to say - 'make me an RPG'?
How many races/professions/skills will there be? Will there be a linear story or is this a persistant world type deal?
Do you have the NPC dialogue and backstory written?
DO you have the combat mechanics worked out? What about experience gain and level progression?

The other person all were saying prices above $8000. So i decided to set the amount around that.
