Wap/Php Scripts

Hi! I am currently self-learning on how to build a wap page using (XHTML MP, WML) with Php on a MySQL backend database. The basic functions that I'm interesting in learning lies with:

Registration (Log in/out)
Uploading & Showing of pictures
Viewing/Editing Profiles

I have fairly very basic knowledge of all the programming language mentioned here, hence would like someone to give me pointing directions or giving advices on this area of building the wap page.
