I've like searched all over the place for free php and mysql supported web hosts...I simply cant find any.
Ok...I dont like banner ads...popups or popunders will do.
any useful links ??? and yea....something thats going to be there for at least the next 2 years...or else I'll have to go host hunting again...
I already tried lycos, not happy with it. xoasis...nope; dint like it. I found one very nice one http://www.ole.uni.cc/ but some err with their sign up form perhaps.

I'm hoping some one will help me out of my current fix...pleaseeeeee

Try this place. Not Free but cheap www.101-webhosting.com
It's who I use.
.com thrown in.
£12 for the year.

Using them for about 6 months so far. Not had any problems. (Touch Wood!).

Well sorry to break it to you but there are extremely few places that offer what you requesting for free. As you said, places that do often die after a while.

What about running your own server? Is that a possibility?

these are some webhosts using portlands host
http://www.ole.uni.cc/
http://www.united.kg.com
http://www.tfree.com (closed I think)

101-webhosting

I used to host with them and well they got me to lose my domain name, because they purchased a domain after recieving my money, illegally.

You probably can still see it, www.spearbox.com.

EDIT: Yep it still says something about fraud...

By the way, I am hosting via a company called Saco Internet (www.sacointernet.com)

I have my own dedicated server, and everything else that comes with it - but it does cost a few bucks every month...

Unlimited space, and bandwidth, and it supports a hell of a lot of stuff too.

Nothing better than that.

:)

yes...nothing like a paid service....but like I said....dont see myself being able to afford anything however cheap till the next 2 yrs :(
for the present, I got to make do with free stuff...ads...popups....everything lol

WOW, c q------TOTALLY COOL!!!

I haven't read the content, but the layout, colors, background, etc., are beautiful!! The only thing I'd do differently------I know you didn't ask, I hope you don't mind-------is, I would make the scrollbars that mint green color-----like what's on the left side (on the background)-----I almost didn't see the scrollbars.......

Again------I LOVVVVVVE IT!!!

gees....thanks for appreciating my work...but I got to admit, the color choise is not all mine :o
yea...scrollbars...actually i jus put in some color that came to y mind..cant even see it at work coz I dont have IE 5.5...but I guess its ok..they aren't meant to be very visible anyway :D

Ooopsss....that was like so absentminded/ I was supposed to say 'teal' in my stylesheet but very absentmindedly, I said navy :D
hey thanks for pointing that out...I cant imagine how funny it ws looking all this while !

TheTree

Okay------I guess I'm totally confused/should have different settings, on my monitor (Hight color: 16-bit)----or, something.....

The scrollbars that "I" saw-------and, saw just now------are WHITE!! I never saw no navy/teal-------or, NOTHIN'!!

If my monitor's "normal", maybe ya need Hex codes, for your colors:

http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/color_codes/

I'm thinkin' http/whatever doesn't recognize "off colors" (teal)------just the basics; ie., "blue", "black", "red"------etc., etc.......

c q
10-05-2002, 07:40 PM
nahi re...teal is a proper color name like white black...strange that it dont work for my page; no prob...I'll change it to a proper color code...next time around...now I'm like off to ~~~sleeeeep~~~~~~~
