Is there any way to know whether browser's back button is pressed or not?

maybe you could explain more why you would want to do this, so we can find a *real* solution.

Sorry about my hasty first post....I had to step away quickly. You can detect when a page is unloaded, or when the current browser session leaves you domain, but there is no specific way to know that the 'Back' button has been pressed (or any type of history navigation, that I know of)

So, as glenn says, what are you trying to accopmlish?
