What to Charge?

Hi guys, sorry it's been a while - been v. busy building a new comp etc (you'll be pleased to know I'm on 1280x1024 now, not 800x600! :) ).

The question :-

Ok, basically I want to start making a couple of sites for local businesses - what would suggest I charge for making a simple site (say 5 pages) in GBP?

What would you charge for hosting? - I'm paying I think about £5 a month for a basic 1and1 package - which is decent. I'm thinking the best way would be to use that (as the sites would be small, bandwidth would not get used up or anything) - with their own domain.

I would strongly suggest you read the article here (http://www.htmlgoodies.com/introduction/newsletter_archive/goodiestogo/article.php/3476611) titled The Value Of Web Development. That will take you a long way toward deciding what to charge for your services.

I can't help you with the question on what to charge for hosting. Sorry.
