if someone gives me a 200 mb video that's 10 minutes.... do i have to do anything but the streaming html code?
can someone with experience help me out..
also what if I want to embed a video on screen at a specific size -- where is the size set in the video in the embedding html or both?

200mb is rather large for the video. The resolution of the video its declared in the video itself though it can be made smaller with the html but file size would still be the same. You might want to look into using a flash movie using with flash and progressive streaming. www.gotoandlearn.com is a good site to learn about flv videos. Riva FLV Encoder can be used to convert different video types to flv (flash video).

what's the benefit of it being a flash over a mpeg?

Flash is vector based. MPEG is pixel based. Flash creates much smaller files.

so is it preferable to import to flash?
what file types can I import to flash?

avi, wmv (i think), flv for sure. I already told you what you needed to do to get the smallest file size but still decent quality.

do you have any other sites i can go to - to learn more about what I can do with a .fla?
That totally flash site takes me forever to go through -- i'd rather read then watch.
once it's in .fla is it easy to embed?
What about videos that i don't need embeded but I want accessible to all. -- what's the best format?
