Hey all, hopefully there is someone out there familiar with the ADP Payroll set-up and can give me some direction in this.

My company expressed an interest in either purchasing or designing an HR database that would link to ADP's Payroll system. There are quite a few third-parties out there that will link to ADP and I'm wondering how difficult it would be for me to develop one myself. I've created an MS Access 2003 HR database (I know it's not the best choice, but that's all I have to work with) and I was wondering what would be the best means (if any) to link to ADP.

Would I use ASP to transfer any data to ADP and vice versa from my Access DB or am I barking up the wrong tree? If so, how would I even begin? Am I going to have to create an ASP page to follow certain links to then produce a report that would then automatically grab the results of this report? Seems needlessly complicated if I could just gain access to the tables of ADP storing our company's employees. But of course, I doubt they would allow that. So how do these third-party companies grab the information and allow their DBs to update ADP records and such?

Thanks for any help in this!

If your company and/or ADP are not willing to use a SSL connection and encryption on the db you should stop now. Transfering SSN's or other personal identifiers over the web must be made secure. If not it's a law suit waiting to happen. I personally would abandon this project asap. It's to risky.
