Advice for a calendar

I wish I had scanned this page so you could see what I mean...

Anywho -

The association yearbook's back cover has a clean design that I'd like to duplicate on our calendar (http://www.suncoastwebdesigns.com/test/susbcba/calendar.cfm) page without scanning it mostly because different fonts are used

Currently the center column is 420px wide. The yearbook cover displays the calendars for 8/05-1/06 on the left, tournaments and dates in the center, and calendars for 2/06-7/06 on the right.

I don't know if it's appropriate to use tables to lay this out or if it should be done using css with a 2 divs within the mid-col div?

I'm already using a table on the state tournament page, which I think is completely appropriate, and considering I'm trying my best to do this site all css I'm just not sure which is the right way.

Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated as always!

The center column definitely doesn't sound like a table, so a centered div probably is the proper choice here.
The two flanking "calendars" may be implemented using tables since calendars often take a row-column shape which would make a table appropriate; however, yours sound more like lists of dates. Without seeing the actual layout it's hard to tell, but some sort of list might be a more semantical choice.

Yeah, I'd go with what Ronald suggested. Make 3 columns with CSS and then on the left and right side make each of the calendars using tables since I'd be the best format. The center should be fairly easy to make with the flag section breaks and stuff.

You'll have a hard time making those tiny calendars legible on a web page, though...

I have already put the 3 columns in and started to list the tournaments in the center - I don't believe I will be using the flags as separators - probably just a different font/color for the tournament name

Whether or not the calendars are completely legible is not truly a concern as they'll be there just for a visual reference - I've actually been toying with the idea of using a graphic instead
