In preparation for teaching myself ASP.NET, I have just installed IIS, the .NET framework and the .NET SDK on my PC (my OS is Windows XP Professional). I noticed that after I had installed the .NET framework, I acquired a new user account called ASP.NET on my PC. Is there any compelling reason to have a separate user like that? Can I delete that user account and still use .NET on my PC?
I'm on a home network, and I'm the only person that uses this PC, so I'd like for there only to be one user account. I don't understand why the installation process doesn't give me an option to install that for the existing user. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.
