i hope something like this exists because i'm dealing with some obnoxious prick who won't stop spamming my tag board, and i reported his site to his host, but i'm not sure they'll be able to do anything about it. even if they shut him down it won't stop him from still posting rude comments. i'd hate to have to shut my tag board down to put an end to it, because it's an important function of my site. what i want to do is just block him from being able to access my site at all. i know it won't stop him 100 percent as he can just use a new computer, but i figure it will at least slow it down since he'd have to go out of his way to further annoy me.

what i want to know is can this be accomplished with an .htaccess file?

Is something like this (http://wsabstract.com/howto/htaccess5.shtml) what you're looking for?

thank you so much. i had his site shut down and he hasn't been back. but if he does come back just to be obnoxious, i'll try using that code.
