View Full Version : Does anyone know if Godaddy hosting supports Mysql?

I am trying to remake my site so it grabs data from mysql. I am new to mysql and php so it might just be some wrong coding, or I could have installed mysql, php and apache incorrectly. Anyway, php works fine when I make regular php codes, but when I try and add mysql functions I get error messages. I have deleted and reinstalled mysql, apache, and php MANY times yielding no results. I was wondering if it had anything to do with my host, I bought my site from godaddy.com and I was curious if anyone else that had bought a site from them has had similar problems. Please help me out, it is the only thing holding me back right now.

I'm lost. Who's hosting the site, you or godaddy? If godaddy are hosting it, then you don't need php, mysql, apache on your pc for the site to work online.
If godaddy are hosting, then you get 1 mysql db with the economy package. https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/shared.asp?se=%2B&ci=132

Ok I found out how to create databases on mysql in godaddy!! My question now is do I still need to download the mysql program again? I've had it but deleted to try and re-install but it didn't work. So yeah do I have to re install mysql, apache, and php (php I think definatly)

You're still confusing me lol
So godaddy is your host? If godaddy is your host, you don't need to download php, apache, mysql etc for it to work on your site. Downloading and installing these will enable you to use it on your own pc as a testing environment before you upload your pages to your website.
You should have no control over your mysql, php and apache on godaddy, in other words, you can't reinstall mysql, php,etc on a godaddy hosting account, if they're the ones that you're hosted with
