im lost

hey guys my sister got me to help her do her school's web site.good,but i found out when i tryed a php page that it was asp!!

im so not used to asp,

no i have to make an event calendar that she can add stuff to it her self.i got the cal but i cant seem to get how to set up the db!!i got this message from the school tech,but he did not elaborate on the subject:

You need to create your database and ASP technology to
Create dynamic web pages password protected. Therefore
You setup the username and password in your web pages.

First, decide what database you're going to use.
Second, design the database to store the info.
Third, Google on tutorials that teach you how to make a connection to the database using ASP.
Fourth, set up your ASP page to connect to the database.
Fifth, set up your HTML page that will be a form that will submit to the ASP page with a username and password.
Sixth, have your ASP page get those values and see if they equal the username and password variables you assign on your ASP page. If they match, display calendar. If not, redirect back to HTML page to submit again.

So you already have the calendar and stuff but just can't get it to connect to it's database?

If that is the case that the person that gave you that response doesn't know what they are talking about.
