Hi guys
First of all I am using DreamweaverMX. I have a template that i am using fo my site. The problem is that I need to edit the navigation bar in the template from FireworksMX. But I can't seem to figure it out. I have been working on this a long time and its driving me crazy. The Macromedia Help files on this subject are horrible. Following their instructions hasn't worked out very well.
I just want to add 2 buttons to the nav bar. It is non-edible region in template. I can't get Dreamweaver to let me open the library item, and can't make the region edible in the .dwt file.
Any help appreciated. If more info is needed just ask...
Here is the Template I am using (http://www.macromedia.com/software/dreamweaver/download/templates/ )

I think what i need to know is how do i edit the .lbi files(library files). If i can get into them i can add images for additional buttons. I figured out how to make the nav bar an edible region, but can't get the images for rollover effcts into the .lbi files. And when I make the nav bar an editable region, the .lbi files are no longer global.
Also, if i could just erase the nav bar, all together, I could just add a new nav bar from scratch.
thanks for any help you may be able to offer.
what a coincidence! I am having the same exact problem. Any information regarding this topic would be much appreciated!
Cheers.

Hi jason.
I don't know if this forum is the right place for this post, we are hurtin. Maybe it would be better off in one of the other forums?
Hi all.
I am currently trying to build my website using a Macromedia Template from their website. It's the e-zine template.
http://www.macromedia.com/software/dreamweaver/download/templates/
I am currently using Dreamweaver MX studio. I can't get this template to work correctly for me. Maybe someone can shed some light on it.
Mainly, my problem lies with the intro page, as that is all I really want from the template. The template itself has a fireworks directory, an images directory, a library directory, and a template directory. Also there are the .htm files (applied pages from the template).
The into page has a logo that I have successfully changed into my own. The problem however lies with the Navigation bar under it. It uses rollovers. There is three 3-stage buttons in the template. I would like to add 2 more buttons to the existing intro page Nav bar to link to 2 additional pages. I don't know how to do that. What should I be editing... the intro.dwt file, the .lbi files. Wouldn't I need to make the buttons first?? Do I do this in fireworks or Dreamweaver?? What about the .png files in the fireworks directory?
Thanks for any advice...maybe someday I'll actually finish the site.

I use dreamweaver and fireworks and templates and they have a function called roundtrip editing.
open your template.
select the whole nav bar (or whatever you want to edit)
then on your properties inspector select EDIT
this should auto open fireworks
a pop up will ask if you want to edit the dreamweaver version of your image (the gif or jpg) or your saved version of that image (the png) always opt to edit the png - so browse and open that.
make your changes to the png image file and click save
go back to dreamweaver and your changes should appear (if not re select the image and click REFRESH on the properties inspector, also if the image appears disdorted select and refresh).
thats the way i edit my images. let me know how you guys get on.
Thanks for you response...kevinG.
I have done what you have described successfully. I have my index page done and all the .png files have been converted to my logos, text, nav, etc. Now this is the .dwt page that I'm talking about here. So I have a finished index.dwt page. When I preview it in my browser it looks and works perfectly. Now my problem is getting it to my free angelfire account.
Do I just save the file as index.html? When I did, and uploaded it, I couldn't see any of the content (.gifs, and nav.) I did upload those files .gif files in the appropriate directory as well. Am I missing something? It works perfectly in DW but not in my angelfire.com account. This is what it looks like...maybe you could tell from the source code.... this is the site as it appearing in angelfire (http://www.angelfire.com/indie/loststudiosnyc/)
Thanks for any further advice.
