How to change this colour?-Im so confused

Hello, I am really confused and stupid. What i want to do is change the colour to the attached files. I have GIMP 2 and its not going to the colour i want it to go. I want to change the orange bit to #b5e7ab. however when i try to do this it goes to a pale peachy colour. I have attached the pics in question. Please Help.

Also when i colour in something on GIMP, the same colour as something on my website, the browser seems to read a different colour. Why is this?

GIMP may be trying to guess at the color where the browser is trying to guess at what the color might be as well. That could be why they are different. I used the color replacement tool in Photoshop. Paint Shop Pro which is about 100bux does the same and so does Fireworks.
