select current users country

I have asp.net C# web app. it has country dropdownlist.when the page load I want to select current users country. how can I do this?

How do you know what country they are in?
Did you want to go by login, IP address, ...?
Note that users may be using a proxy server located in another country, so IP may be unreliable for an internet app.
