DVD on website

I received a dvd movie and the dvd contains several files on it (one of which is *.ifo I beleive). I am totally unfamiliar with dvd, but this person wants me to place this movie on her web site (it is all legal) and I do not know how to go about doing this. Plus I will be receive a DVD of our wedding and would like to place it on our web site. I'm assuming I'd have to convert it somehow? At a total loss here. Thanks!

You do realize the size of a DVD? Virtual Dub should be able to make the video. If you own the video and there is no copyright protection then you can just go into the video_ts folder that is on the dvd and use those files. Dr Divx can make avis, not sure of any other software but do some searching.

I do realize the size, i thought there may be a way to compress for the web.
