Help with Adobe Illustrator plz

Hello, not sure if this is the right board to ask help with AI but here goes...
I created a set of business cards using AI 9.0 (nothing fancy, just a pic on the side with contact info) and sent it to the printshop.
Now, the printshop tells me that the fonts "jumped everywhere" (not sure what they really meant by that) when they opened the file and they suggested that I do a 'cur<something>' with a special AI control (though the guy was unable to tell me how to) in order to fix the problem. :eek:

Can someone plz help me with this?? As you've already guessed, I'm a complete newb at AI. I did check the AI tutorial sites listed in the sticky but not quite sure what i need to look for. :(

Also, the printshop is using AI 10 or 11.

the usual fix for this to convert the text to curves, ie vectors

select the text and pick the option from the type menu (i think)

keep a copy of your original doc natch

this works fine, it's a time honoured hack from way back

Thanks for the quick reply. The option is called "Create Outlines" on my version of AI. Thanks a lot!!!!!!! :thumbsup:
