Hard to explain in the title so here goes, in more depth.

I want to add a slider button so that its location on the scale, creates certain data for use later.
Example,

on a sliding scale of 5 positions, pos1 enters the value '1' pos2, the value2 and so on.

Can, and would, anyone you give me a pointer please?

I would create 5 radio buttons in a row, and give them the values 1 to 5.
If you want to show the average, have a field for the number of sumbissions, and another for the total "score."

Hmmm, I had thought of that but it wouldn't (I think), be intuitive for the user.

I have gone ahead with another idea which 'seems' to be more user-friendly.

Thanks though. Your reply did help.

Just curious, what is your intuitive idea?

Not sure how it would tie into your CGI script, but this is a nice example of a slider interface: http://www.walterzorn.com/dragdrop/dragdrop_e.htm#addons.
