Java Menu & Dropdowns

I am having trouble with some Java and HTML combinations - I have a Java menu with a dropdown on the same page. The problem is, that my meny goes underneath the dropdowns!!! How can I fix this. . .I tried changing the dropdown's Z-INDEX. . . Can you help????? :confused:
