Hi everyone,

I wanna re-do my website, and this time in flash. I'm pretty familiar with flash and html, but I wanna have an html script in my flash website. The content will be an html document which should appear in flash. (Since it's easier to update then). How do I do this?

Thanks,

Maybe this (http://www.informit.com/articles/article.asp?p=174349&seqNum=8&rl=1) will help.

Flash sucks, don't do it.

And the reason he said that is making an all flash website introduces many problems. Your first is that your pages can't be indexed by a search engine. Second, users have to have a plug-in to view the site. Third, it limits (or maybe even eliminates) accessibility since screen readers can't read it typically and any sort of settings the user has to make it easier for them to use their computer won't apply, e.g. larger fonts, special colors, etc. There are probably more, but these were the ones that I could think of right off the top of my head.

Now if you are just making some personal website or something, then it you probably won't worry about it. But if it is any sort of site where you are trying to attract customers or members, I wouldn't recommend makig it all flash. You can still use flash to augment/enhance the site just like javascript but don't make it a requirement to use the site.

Oracleguy is right on this one. Using flash is tempting for a lot of "hobbyist" web designers and new web designers, however in the world of business, and professionalism, its accesibility that counts, not flashy web sites (no pun intended).

unless this is some personal "look at my awsome dog" or "i'm so cool" website, i would SERIOUSLY consider using html rather than flash.

I like flash movies, and have made them since flash 4 was band-spanking new! But I just can't stand flash-based web-designs. I'm really into the whole graphics thing but even then I would prefer to make my pages inaccessible by adding a crazy amount of layered transparent .png images and making a really beautiful page that would kill everyone's connections. heh. But it's a pick your poison kind of world.
