The browser will attempted to render anything you give it, but if you are expecting it to execute the php that is not going to happen. PHP only executes on the server side not in the browser.

2) Type in a subject that summarizes your question- A great way to turn off other members wanting to help you is to type an incomplete or silly subject for your post. Examples of poor subject titles include:
- "I'm a newbie...be gentle"
- "How can I..."
- "Urgent...deadline tomorrow!"
Please remember for future posts :)

Anything within <?php and ?> tags needs a php processor. It's like speaking german to your computer, even if you speak english and throw in the odd german word, the computer wont understand the german and only the english. So if you have it in a .php or a .html file you still need a processor. My recomendation if you really want work on these on your computer would be to go and download php framework at php.net and an apache server somewhere. That way you can view and process php code. And while your at it if you have high speed internet, you can even set up your own webhosting service  lol.
