I am developing AJAX code. After it retrieve xml from responseXML, it generate a webpage with Next button. After visitor click on the Next button, it goes to another page which has a Back button. What I want is that after visitor click the Back button to go back to the original page, this original page won't do XMLHttpRequest() and retrieve responseXML again, and it just uses the previous data retrieved. I want to save bandwidth, server resource and speed thing up.

How to do that?

Many thanks.

This really is up to the browser to do. Even if you request the document again, if your server is setup correctly, the browser should just use the cached version.
