Build a logo editing site

I'm a graphics designer and have noticed in this forum a link to a web site called cooltext.com where you can design and edit your own logo from different selections in the page.

My question is where do you find the information in order to build one like that?

You start with developing/finding software that does all the desired/required graphical manipulation. You write server side scripts that utilize this software using user input. You write client side code to take input form the user and present results. If you are unable to host web site on your computer, you find ISP that allows you to use all your custom software.

buying software for this is expensive, if you make your own components it would be much cheaper and you know that will do everything that you want it to do. As well as being easier to edit because you wrote it.
